The Japan Property Management Association (JPM) is pleased to announce that it is taking applications for the 9th annual JPM International Student Internship program.
JPM or Nikkankyo (日管協) is a nationwide public interest corporation whose mission is to “recognize the social importance of rental housing and protect the lives and properties of the tenants and owners of rental housing as well as to develop the rental housing market”. Over 1,600 real estate management companies throughout Japan are members. Real Estate Japan Inc. is also a member of JPM.
Overview of Internship Program
The JPM International Student Internship program is an unpaid internship program open to international students in Japan who have a goal of working here, specifically in the Japanese real estate industry. The internship is open to university and vocational school students.
The program runs from July to September 2018, with internships lasting for either three days or two weeks, within the program period. Working hours will be seven or eight hours per day.
Internships will be in one of the following areas, depending on the company at which you intern:
■ Translation: Translation of documents, signboard, etc.
■ Management: Cleaning of managed property, photography
■ Customer Service / Reception: Correspondence with foreigners, property guide
■ PC work: Data input, updating home pages, creating apartment blueprints
Fifty (50) internship slots are available nationwide. If possible, you will be placed in an internship near the location of your school.
This is an unpaid internship, but a daily food and transportation stipend (of up to ¥2,000 per day) will be provided.
Upon completion of the internship, you will be awarded a certificate of “Completion of Public Interest Corporation” ((公益法人の修了証), which is an official and publicly recognized document.
Qualifications
To apply for the internship, you must be an international student studying at a university or vocational school in Japan and have a Japanese language level of N1 on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
