He started by buying one or two apartment buildings a year. Now his portfolio consists of ten buildings, generating income of over 80 million yen annually. Mr. Ubukata now works as a consultant for investors who want to buy real estate in Japan. His clients are not only Japanese but also foreigners. One notable client is not a Japanese national, but who was able to buy four apartment buildings, worth a total of over 500 million yen, within a year by securing a loan from a Japanese bank.
